HISTORY

KARMAR S.A. has been established in 1991. We have been present on the construction market for 16 years and during this period, we have gradually widened the scope of our services and have taken part in very difficult and challenging projects. Because of the rapid growth of our organisation and considerable size of construction projects, KARMAR was transformed into a joint stock company in 1997. In mid-2007, KARMAR S.A. has joined BOUYGUES BATIMENT INTERNATIONAL, the international construction division of the BOUYGUES Group.

In the years 1992-1997 we built numerous industrial facilities, warehouses and office buildings for TECHNOKABEL, SUNFARM, SOLCO-BASEL, BSV ASCO METRO and other large investors. In 1996 our company realised its first contracts associated with environmental protection such as construction of biological-mechanical waste water treatment plant and rehabilitation of the area of communal dumping ground in Łomianki near Warsaw.

The construction of Nordic PARK office building, where our company acted as a general contractor, was a turning point in our history. During execution of this contract in the years 1998 2000 we practically implemented many new organisational and management solutions. The Nordic building, of which the contact price was 11 millions US dollars, received a TÜV Polska certificate confirming the highest standards of workmanship and quality of materials required for A-class office facilities.

In the years 1997-1999 we totally refurbished and reconstructed 68 branch offices of KREDYT Bank located in various towns in Poland. In 1999 we also started TRANSBIT, GEPARD and TELBANK projects associated with construction of high standard office buildings. In 2000 our company made concrete structures for Wileńska Shopping Centre. It was our first construction of a large area supermarket type building which required a considerable expansion of our reinforced concrete department. Two years later we took part in construction of ARKADIA - the largest shopping centre in Warsaw. In 2004 we made reinforced concrete structures for Kazimierz Gallery in Krakow in southern Poland. During execution of all these projects we used more than 10 thousand tonnes of constructional steel and 80 thousand cubic metres of concrete.

In the years 2002- 2004 a dynamic growth of housing construction sector took place in Poland, and KARMAR quickly responded to market expectations. As a general contractor we built living quarters and condominiums such as Willa Anna, DERBY III, MARINA, OLSZYNY, LEŚNE SAMARYTANKI and Apartments at Oranżerii Street in Warsaw. These modern housing projects allowed our company to gain a considerable experience in this very demanding market segment.

In 2005, we started the largest projects that have ever been undertaken by KARMAR. In this year we were also given a prestigious Business Gazelle title awarded to the most dynamic and profitable medium size Polish enterprises.

At the present time our reference list includes more than 30 completed large projects and several construction contracts, including long term ones, which are currently being executed. The total area and cubature of various structures and buildings we have constructed exceed 600,000 square metres and, respectively, 2.3 million cubic metres. Such impressive figures are the result of our commitment to quality and attitude of our customers who select our company as a contractor for their future investment projects.

OUR RESOURCES

We have successfully completed over 30 investment projects and, at the present time, we execute several building contracts, including long-term ones.

Our company is based on a team of professional employees who pay special attention to the quality and performance of the work in accordance with our Customers’ expectations. The diversified qualifications of our staff allow us to meet the investor’s requirements in a quick and efficient manner.

In particular, we have our own team specialised in reinforced concrete structures that can work as a general contractor or a subcontractor for our partners and customers. We also have our own technical depot equipped with modern construction machinery and equipment.

OUR BUSINESS PROFILE

Our company specialises in construction of large, general-purpose structures, including those made of reinforced concrete. Concrete structures are always built by our own specialised teams. We also realise turnkey projects where we act as a general contractor and coordinator of all trades and types of work.

We co-operate with specialised companies that help us to execute all types of projects, including the most sophisticated and difficult ones. In co-operation with design offices, we prepare technical documentation, perform constructional work and provide the building sites with all the necessary infrastructure.

Our workers and engineering personnel are highly qualified and guarantee an efficient and reliable execution of the contracted work. The suppliers and subcontractors are always carefully selected and meet to the quality standards imposed by our company.

At the present time, we implement a quality management system conforming to ISO9001:2001 standard. This system will be further developed to incorporate the TQM methodology. We expect this tool will further enhance our flexibility and effectiveness in fulfilling the Customers’ demands.
